I will finally namedrop one mentor, kind of, without saying his name.
He created one of the first billion dollar apps, you all know what it is.

  • The easiest way to make a great product is if you are your own user

Then you don’t need most of the theatrics. When you have skin in the game as user and creator, this is what happens.

But please, keep sharing all your feedback on interface approach.

And it’s not a law, it’s a guideline for UX’ers who are not their users.

I appreciate the effort! I do think this is too busy for strong adoption. I’d download a couple of disney apps and look at their very simple approach, then go all in on that direction.

I think it looks really good! The only thing I’d change is on the left I’d make the APY % green instead of blue, but hey that’s just my two cents.

Looks awesome man. Love the UX flow from the left to the right - seems like a very natural heirachy with your wallet at the very top left and flowing into main navigation and sub-navigation sliding out to the right. Some comments below:

  • I would make the % deposits clickable so you can populate the field without having to use the slider
  • I would like a way to dismiss the info message at the top of that screen
  • I would like to see some messaging around dong your due diligence / contract auditing / trade with caution
  • Lets try and fit the left hand navigation on smaller browsers sizes, I would recommend that it gets compressed as the window gets smaller to avoid hiding content and having to scroll
  • I would like to see some subtle animation similar to what you see in material design guidelines (https://material.io/design/motion/understanding-motion.html#principles) this show intent and can brings the product to life
  • is this responsive? I think thats a gap we’re missing if we dont cover mobile devices
  • What browsers are you targeting?
  • Lets get some kind of analytics plugged in so we can make some data driven decisions
  • I’m not entirely sure about all the graduations and fades (that takes me back to my Starcraft days) That might be more of a personal preference, but I prefer the cleaner look of flat colours

For content I’m a UX / UI designer 20 years in.

Here’s the thing, both of you guys are right imo @malandraj @uhmpeps

uhmpeps is def a user, but a certain type of user. An advanced user and also an investor. They will want to see and use certain things.

There are other types of users though. Complete noobs, and also somewhere in between. They will want less complexity and more guidance.

So ideally the UX would have a pro mode and a simple clean noob mode.
Is that coming?

yah I think we need to have easy and advanced modes along with normal and beta users via a check box in options.

Liking the design but might be too complex for someone starting out?

Maybe make the default extremely simple (like the recent design shared on the discord and twitter by kirby with the waifus) and then have a more complex layout for those that wanted it.

I think the design the first time you enter the dapp needs to mirror what yfi is — the simplest way to yearn yield
