Add a prominent container on Vault pages to more clearly direct users to the deposit URL for the LP (Curve, etc.). Potentially in-between the Deposit container and the About container (I understand the link is under Info, but I imagine most never click that tab, or don’t know what they’re looking at when they do).
This would help guide new users who aren’t familiar with DeFi protocols. New crypto users onboarded during this cycle won’t likely understand how it works and are highly unlikely to actually read the documentation. Giving them a simple roadmap should help them understand how it works and improve Yearn’s conversion rate for new users.
Most people interact with digital media the way Social Media has trained them. Clickbait or keep scrolling.
Summary
Most people won’t read the documentation. Providing more clear direction on the page will help onboard new users. Adding a clear and highly visible link to the LP will provide a visual guide and lines up better with how the average person processes information on the internet.
I agree wholeheartedly! I have this as an item to improve on my kanban board (although it has dropped in priority recently). The issue isn’t fully fleshed out yet, but your suggestion is good, and it makes sense to have a little callout that tells people exactly what the deposit asset is, and if a curve pool or something else, then a link to that pool.
Keep calling out things you see! and if you want to add directly to the kanban board, you can do that here: yShip · GitHub
It might be private but if so, ping me here or on discord and I will give you write access.
Yearn was the first DeFi protocol that I ever used (class of 2021). I cut my teeth by poking around on the app. I’ve got a soft spot for it now.
On top of that, since I can’t stand letting my maximum lock decay, I’m heavily invested and will be for the foreseeable future. Whatever benefits the protocol benefits me.
I’m no developer, but I’d love to contribute however I can. When I get some time, I’ll go back through the app and think through all the little things that were sticking points in my learning process.
Having somebody that doesn’t have a tech background go through it might be beneficial. Or, it might not. Haha.
So far what you have brought up has been great so don’t under-estimate how valuable being interested and detail oriented can be.
Always great to get feedback, especially if that feedback isn’t sugar coated.
I know the site/app is far from perfect and just recently started working on it. So I’m happy to get other opinions to validate and or question my instincts!
