“BPT” from my limited understanding is central to the governance of the protocol, though I haven’t found any ressources (articles or something like that). please share to further understanding.

BPT stands for Balancer Pool Token. These are LP shares in Balancer protocol which work similarly to Uniswap UNI-V1 LP tokens.
If you are looking for exact pool tokens which can be staked on https://ygov.finance, here they are:
